Window Tinting & Heat Insulation

Service details

Service overview

Tint and heat-insulation films fitted to your car's windows to cut glare and heat.

Tint and heat-insulation films are applied to the car's windows to reduce glare, add privacy and limit the sun's heat inside the cabin.

The film is chosen by whether privacy or heat matters more to you, and by its specifications rather than its colour alone.

Tinting and heat insulation: what each film does

Tint film mainly cuts the visible light coming through the glass, which reduces glare and adds privacy. Heat-insulation film is designed to block the sun's heat (infrared) and ultraviolet rays, and it can do that without making the glass very dark. Many films combine both in different proportions, so you can choose the balance you want.

For a fuller comparison of the two, read car window tinting vs heat insulation.

Choosing the right film

A darker film is not always a cooler one. Compare the manufacturer's data sheet rather than the colour of the sample:

  • Visible light transmission (VLT): how much light passes through. A lower number means darker glass.
  • Heat (infrared) rejection: how much of the sun's heat the film blocks.
  • UV rejection: protection for you and the interior trim.
  • Total solar energy rejected: the overall measure of heat performance.

Tell the installer whether privacy, heat or both matter most to you, and which windows you want covered.

Rules on tint darkness

Saudi traffic regulations limit how dark car windows can be, and the windscreen is treated differently from the side and rear windows. Rules can change, so confirm the current permitted levels with official traffic sources before choosing a film, and check with the installer that your choice complies.

How installation works

  1. The glass is cleaned thoroughly, inside and around the seals.
  2. The film is cut to the exact shape of each window.
  3. The film is applied and pressed out to remove water and air.
  4. Edges are checked and the car is handed back with care instructions.

A slight haze or small water pockets can appear for a short time while the film cures. They should clear as it dries.

Caring for tinted windows

  • Keep the windows closed for as long as the installer advises after fitting.
  • Clean the film with a soft cloth and a cleaner that is safe for window film. Avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners.
  • Avoid scraping the film with rings, keys or sharp tools.

Tinting protects the cabin. To protect the paintwork as well, see paint protection film (PPF) and car care.
